Quest for Balance: Hormones, Mind and Health

It has been almost 2 months since my methotrexate shot for my ectopic pregnancy. My doctor has cleared me for ttc whenever I feel ready. My body has been through the grinder for sure over these last months. Since June I have had two miscarriages and one ectopic. In the midst of it all I wasn’t sure I would want to try again so soon. Because my body went through so much I want to get my hormones back on track and my body back to normal. I am feeling really good at the moment and want to do all I can to boost the chance of a future pregnancy sticking. According to Healthline Vitex may improve female fertility due to its possible effect on prolactin levels and in a study were found to have improved hormone balance. I will link more info about this herb at the end of this post.

The second thing I did was start seed cycling. Seed cycling is said to help balance hormones in a safe and gentle way. During the first part or follicular phase you take 1 T of ground flaxseed and 1 T of pumpkin seeds per day. During the second or luteal phase you take 1 T ground sesame seeds and 1 T sunflower seeds per day. Fourth, I am doing yoga, eating a wfpb diet and focusing on balance and health. I am spending more time with God and getting my heart and mind right. The reality is I have a decent chance of having another ectopic or miscarriage. I want to be prepared for the challenge as well as the blessing.. whichever may come.

This whole experience has really made me understand the miracle and blessing of life. I feel so rich with the family God has given me. Each of my crazy kids brings so many smiles, laughs, cries and chaos to my daily life. I pray for this future baby and the joy it will add to our family.. so worth the journey.. and the wait.
